Reaching Across the Aisle: Building Peace into the National Conversation

In our national dialogue, peacebuilding often gets lost in the cacophony of divisiveness and diversion. During the week of International Day of Peace (IDoP) (September 21st), supporters of legislation to create a cabinet-level Department of Peacebuilding (DoP or HR 1111), commemorated IDoP by building peace into our conversations at the offices of nearly 90 members of Congress, including at least 73 Democrats and 15 Republicans.

Another Mass Shooting: This must not be our legacy. Sign Petition

Sign our petition to the President and Congress. It is clear we need to make fundamental shifts in how we are organizing ourselves in America and around the world when it comes to dealing with violence and conflict — shifting towards systemic healing and restorative oriented approaches. This gets to the root cause of violence on the planet.

All together, we visited over 100 Congressional offices, many included in-depth meetings on our primary peacebuilding legislation.
