A storytelling series hosted by Western Maine Storytellers, produced by Mt. Blue TV

“Peace Is a Verb”

If we were to choose a motto for the film series, Building Peace Story by Story, it would be “peace is a verb”.  In this groundbreaking series, we look at the lives and activities of people who pursue peace in their everyday lives; personal peace, family peace, community peace, national and international peace. Our speakers include professional storytellers who are involved in community outreach in various ways including the designer of a war memorial. Each has a unique story to tell.

Building Peace Story by Story is a multi-part film series that is a collaboration between Western Maine Storytelling, The Peace Alliance, and Mt.Blue TV. Through Zoom interviews, participants share their stories of prison work, community building, and even as a Freedom Fighter in Central America.

These episodes will be aired on Mt. Blue TV every Monday, with the first show featuring storyteller Michael McCarty on January 17th in honor of Rev./Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Each video will be posted here after the show airs on Mt. Blue TV.

We invite you to spend a half an hour with each of these dynamic tellers and get inspired to re-imagine what peacebuilding looks like in your day-to-day lives.
