United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and The Peace Alliance Five Cornerstones of Peace

The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) range from no poverty, clean water, and gender equality. They serve as a framework for partnership for all citizens of this planet. 

Outlined here are the 5 SDG’s which align with The Peace Alliance Five Cornerstones of Peacebuilding and set an ambitious agenda for change: to develop powerful partnerships between individuals, organizations and governments who are adopting shared values and principles that relate to something bigger than ourselves to safeguard a global culture of peace. 

DoP Accomplishments in 2017

Peacebuilding is to make real our vision for peace.  Despite a national climate of divisiveness, doubt and fear, the Department of Peacebuilding (DoP) Campaign continued in 2017 to work for a DoP and a culture of compassion, inclusion, respect and peace.

Letters to DC: San Diego Community Implores Legislators to Make Peace a National Priority

Leading up to the Department of Peacebuilding Campaign’s Advocacy Days in Washington, DC, San Diego students and community leaders, and a student from Los Angeles wrote heartfelt letters to members of Congress imploring them to prioritize peace and establish a cabinet-level Department of Peacebuilding (DoP) now.  We delivered those messages to over one hundred Representatives and Senators in October.
