The Peace Alliance and Peace Alliance Educational Institute are looking for staff leadership to help usher our organization, and thus the world, forward.
We are looking for someone who can help amplify and make more visible our peacebuilding advocacy work, including the Blueprint for Peace which elevates proven solutions for enhancing personal and interpersonal development, empowering community interventions, teaching peace in schools, humanizing justice systems and fostering international peace. This role of Managing Director will help inspire and guide the organization. This person should be organized, creative, dynamic, self-motivated, motivational, deeply collaborative and called to the work of ushering in a more peaceful era in the world.
That being said, in these challenging times, all non-profits are financially challenged. We are looking for someone who can step up even without an ability for us to pay a significant salary initially. We can offer a stipend depending on your situation, background and experience. We anticipate with this leadership role filled, we will expand our financial base and can compensate further in time.
JOB SUMMARY: As Managing Director of the Peace Alliance, you are supporting the ongoing operations of our nonprofits with guidance and support from our Board of Directors and members of our organizational Leadership Council. We consider this to be a 20 to 30+ hour a week management responsibility, engaging our Council, Board, lead volunteers in key advocacy and educational initiatives and programs, and coordinating with other allied organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for qualified candidates with diverse backgrounds. Skills we are most looking for: Project Management and Communication. Fundraising skills will be highly regarded as well. Other background skills such as advocacy and social media are desirable.
You might be a current or retired executive; a grassroots organizer; a skilled graduate student; etc., all with past experience in organizing and managing projects, initiatives and people. Self-driven. Solid writing skills. Must be confident in computer use and most common applications, such as MS Office, email, spreadsheets, google docs, databases, Zoom (and preferably limited use of WordPress would be a bonus).
We are currently a virtual organization. You will need to be able to work remotely with your own equipment and technology to operate efficiently.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Organizational Leadership, Run and Manage Projects
- Provide Collaboration and Support for Development/Fundraising
- Collaborate on all Communications, Technology and Social Media
- Collaborate on lobbying/advocacy activities
- Support grassroots networking
- Attend and inform the monthly Council and Board meetings
- Serve as a Public Representative for our organization at large
