After months of planning and organizing, the Peace Alliance/Ben & Jerry’s Celebration for Peace event took place on Oct. 2nd and was a total success! Congressman Bobby Scott and Congressman Walter Jones were delighted with the effectiveness of this event and the generosity of Ben & Jerry’s.

6th Summit of the Global Alliance for Ministries and Infrastructures for Peace
The Global Alliance for Ministries and Infrastructures for Peace (GAMIP) held its 6th summit in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 16-20 with 167 participants representing 55 countries. This year, The Peace Alliance, the National Peace Academy, and the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding collaborated and offered a joint presentation entitled, “The U.S. Story: Integrated Peacebuilding – local to global.”
Nobel Peace Prize Letter to the Editor Action
On Friday, October 11th, the Nobel committee announced this year’s Peace Prize winner. We plan to use the timing of this years announcement to continue the peacebuilding conversation with our local newspaper editors and the public by writing letters to the editor using the Nobel Peace Prize announcement as our news “hook," looking at honor our own local Nobel-Worthy laureates.
Peace L.A. 2013 Report Out
