The Peace Alliance is looking for dynamic peace builders who want to become a part of our team to foster peace in our society and beyond.  We are a largely volunteer organization and depend on folks who can bring their skills and time to committees and projects in support of our mission and vision. Leadership Council Needs

Cultivating Personal Peace Lead–  This team lead will have a foundation in integrating peace in their own lives, with their children, in their relationships, in their workplace, and in their approach to activism, through such methods as compassionate communication, mindfulness, empathy, and stress reduction. They will bring their understanding of these principles to this position by researching and amplifying programs and initiatives that foster this type of peacebuilding in our personal lives. Committee members needed

We are seeking folks who would want to serve on committees related to our five cornerstones, national field coordination, and the campaign to establish a US Department of Peacebuilding to support the team leads and have an active role in developing programs and grassroots campaigning on the current bill in the House of Representatives, HR 1111.

The five cornerstone areas are  Community Peacebuilding, Practicing Peace in Schools, Humanizing Justice Systems, Cultivating Personal Peace, and Fostering International Peace as well as working with our National Field Coordinator on our Tuesday night offerings and/or with the campaign for a Department of Peacebuilding for boots on the ground advocacy at the governmental level.

Fundraising/Grant Writing- The Peace Alliance relies on grants and private donations to fund our work. We are seeking a grant writing professional who would be able to bring their skills to bear to find funding opportunities for the programs we are developing to further our peacebuilding efforts.

Intern–  The Peace Alliance is seeking multiple interns to join our fast-paced team. We are looking for individuals with energy and discipline who have experience or interest in social media marketing, partnership research, and online campaign development. Interns will cultivate these skills and interests to support projects in peacebuilding, and legislative advocacy. This position presents the opportunity to impact multiple projects with our team members, fostering communication and professional development skills. We are looking for interns who would be available for between 15-25 hours per week for no less than six months.

The interns’ responsibilities will be tailored to their organizational interests and skills; they will include helping to promote an online and social media platform and presence, create fundraising campaigns, fulfill programmatic duties, contributing to our grassroots organizing efforts, and research partnership opportunities.

  • Support the work of the Managing Director and the staff as needed
  • Research peacebuilding partnership opportunities, grants, and corporate sponsorship opportunities
  • Research latest legislative endeavors in alignment with The Peace Alliance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work virtually with colleagues across the country
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Able to take direction well and work independently on multiple activities
  • Flexible; able and willing to adapt to changing conditions, but also willing to take initiative
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, handle deadlines with poise, and work as part of a team
  • Vigilant attention to detail; organized
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Google Docs, Mail Merge, Excel
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms
  • Reliable and prompt
  • A good sense of humor
  • Professional and friendly attitude
